Getting to Hudson Bay Mountain Resort

 

Travel by Air, Rail & Road

 

Smithers is a vibrant town located in the Bulkley Valley in northwestern British Columbia.

 

It is about halfway between Prince George and Prince Rupert on the Trans Canada Yellowhead Highway (Highway 16).

Air
The Smithers Regional Airport offers daily flights.
Central Mountain Air routes connect to Smithers through the following communities: Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Prince George, Campbell River, Kamloops, and Kelowna.
Air Canada  and Northern Thunderbird also fly into Smithers.

 

Rail
Via Rail
VIA Rail operates “The Skeena” passenger train, running from Jasper to Prince Rupert and back again, with stops in Prince George, Smithers, and many other communities along Highway 16. VIA is a national network with connections from various Canadian cities.
BC Rail operates from Vancouver to Prince George.

 

Road

Car
Smithers is a 371-kilometer drive west from Prince George (expect 4-5 hours) and a 353-kilometer drive east from Prince Rupert (expect 4-5 hours).

Bus
BC Bus North has routes all over the North that can get you here for between $35 and $45 depending on where you are coming from. Check out their website at

To the Mountain
Once you are in Smithers, follow the signs directing you to Hudson Bay Mountain Resort.
If you are heading into Smithers from the east, turn onto Tatlow Road (next to Glacier Toyota). Turn right onto Pacific St, and then left on Dahlie Rd (train track overpass). Follow Dahlie to the left when it turns into Hudson Bay Mountain Rd. Travel 20 kilometers on Hudson Bay Mountain Road until you see our main Panorama Lodge.

 

If you are heading into Smithers from the west, you can turn towards the mountain from almost anywhere in town and then turn left on Railway Avenue.  Follow Railway Avenue as it veers to the left away from the tracks, then take your next right onto Dahlie Road. Follow Dahlie to the left when it turns into Hudson Bay Mountain Rd. Travel 20 kilometers on Hudson Bay Mountain Road until you see our main Panorama Lodge.
